Leak sites sort content by name. Whatever name someone types into Google or a leak site's search bar is the one your protection has to cover.

Most creators protect the name they post under today and stop there. This guide covers every name a leak can travel under.

Why names drive leaks

Leak sites live on search traffic. They title their pages with your name plus words like "leaked" or "free" so they show up when people search for you.

Rulta works the same way in reverse: you give us a username and the platform it belongs to, and our scanners search Google, social media, adult sites, and forums for copies posted under that name. A name we do not know about is a name our scanners are not searching for.

The four kinds of names

Your current username

This one is covered the moment you sign up. This is the username you’re using on your sub platform, socials and the username that your fans know you by. If you run a second username or a sub-brand / sub-account, add it as its own username.

Old usernames or handles

Content does not retire when you do. You might have old accounts that have been banned or deleted. If content was ever posted under a name you used before, that name is worth protecting, even if you have stopped creating!

Misspellings and variations

Some leak pages misspell names on purpose. An extra letter, a swapped vowel, a dot or underscore in the middle. The goal is to dodge scanners while still reaching fans who type something close enough.

Your legal name

Your legal name is not a brand you built, and when it shows up next to your content, the risk is to your privacy, not only your income. We recommend not using your legal name on your socials but if you have decided to use that, it is also necessary to protect that name too.

Which names to protect and how

Name Protect it? How
Current username Yes, always Saved as your username at signup
Second username or sub-brand / sub-account Yes Add it as its own username
Old username with content still online Yes Add it as a username, even if you no longer post
Old username from a rebrand Yes Add it as a username so old leak pages are found
Misspellings leak sites use Yes, free Ask live support to add them as default alternative usernames
Your legal name Yes, if necessary Add it as an extra username only if you have leaks with it

How to build your name list

  1. Write down every name you have used. Include backup accounts and handles from years ago.
  2. Search each name. Try it alone and with words like "leaked" or "free."
  3. Look for variations. Watch for near misses in the results and in Google's autocomplete suggestions.
  4. Rank the list. Names that bring up leaks today go first.
  5. Add your priority names. In your dashboard, click "Add Profile," then enter the name and its platform.
  6. Update your whitelist. Add the real pages tied to each name so they are never reported by mistake.
  7. Repeat every few months. New misspellings appear over time.

Misspellings: the names leakers pick on purpose

A misspelled title is a leaker's way of hiding in plain sight. The page still reaches fans, but a scanner looking for an exact name can miss it.

The simplest fix costs nothing. Contact our live support with the spellings you have seen, and we add them to your account as default alternative usernames. They are free and do not count toward your username limit.

Two more tools cover the variations you have not spotted yet. Image scanning finds your content by the picture itself, not the name on the page. Face recognition AI comes with Premier and Legend, and reverse image search comes with Legend. Our recrawlers also look for reuploads of content we have already found, whatever the new page calls it.

Your legal name: a different kind of risk

A leak that includes your legal name links your creator work to your offline life. You can add your legal name as an extra username. Unlike a misspelling, it is a different name altogether, so it is charged like any other extra username. We act on stolen copies of your content and fake profiles posted under that name. There are two separate fixes.

The content and fake profiles. Your photos and videos are your copyrighted work. Under Section 512 of the Copyright Act, a DMCA notice can remove them whether the page uses your username, your legal name, or no name at all. Fake profiles using your legal name are reported under impersonation, which comes with Premier and Legend. Deindexed is not deleted, but to the person hunting for your content, it might as well be.

The personal details. Your name, address, and phone number are not copyrighted, so a DMCA notice cannot target them. Google has a separate personal information removal process for contact details and doxxing. It removes results from Google Search only. The page itself stays online until the site owner takes it down.

Rulta also keeps your legal name off the paperwork. We file every notice under our company details, so your name and address never appear in public notice databases such as Lumen.

What protecting more names costs

Every plan includes a set number of usernames: one on Pro, two on Premier, and four on Legend. Extra usernames cost $45, $60, or $75 a month by plan.

Say you have a username and two old usernames. On Pro, it comes to $229 a month plus VAT. On Premier, it comes to $244 a month and adds face recognition. If you have four names or a Telegram problem, Legend covers all four at $324.

You can also swap any username for a different one once a month, free of charge. On a tight budget, protect the name with the most leaks first and switch once it is under control. Agencies can rotate names across their roster too.

FAQ

Do I need to protect a name I stopped using years ago?

If content was ever posted under it, yes.

Can leakers avoid takedowns by misspelling my name?

They try. Send the spellings you spot to our live support, and we add them as default alternative usernames for free. Our facial recognition and content matching technology catches the copies a name search alone would miss.

Can Rulta scan for my legal name?

Yes. It counts as an extra username, and we remove stolen content and fake profiles posted under it. Personal details like your address or phone number need Google's personal information form, since they are not copyrighted.

Will my legal name appear on takedown notices?

No. We file under our own company details, so your legal name stays off every notice.

Can I protect a name that belongs to someone I work with?

Yes. If the name belongs to a partner or a creator you manage, we confirm ownership before we activate it.

Can I add names after I sign up?

Yes. Click "Add Profile" in your dashboard at any time, and the new name is active within 24 hours. You can also chat with our live support team if you have any further questions.
